The Duo That’s Made of Three
An ebullient sun peeks over the peaks
To the west casting long shadows
On the slopes of Ngong hills
The arrival of a newborn day to announce
They walk
And they talk
A cap on the one’s head
A head wrap on the other’s
With a fat beer belly
And sure hand gestures
With an authoritative tone
And a confident gait
The one is loud and reckless
Unafraid and unguarded
In the safe space the duo has crafted
Comely
With a smiling face
And a meek gait
With a fit body
And an adoring expression
With a soft voice
And cautious hand gestures
The other’s mim mannerisms
Ooze with silent wisdom
* * *
Overhead
In the clear blue sky
A fervid unrelenting sun glares
Casting stunted shadows
Beneath and around a little round shelter
The day’s coming of age to proclaim
Inside the dainty circular shelter
Eyes fixed on the monstrance
Rosary beads in slow regular motions between fingers
The one sits motionless
Arms raised, the other kneels
In a silent mismatched unison
To the mountain mover
The duo offers the mountainous trammels
And the blazing fetters
* * *
On the slopes of Ngong hills
Serenity enveloping it
An unostentatious mansion looks on
As onto the western horizon
An orange glow in its wake
A weary tranquil sun sinks
In the distance burying its fordone face
The departure of a spent day to herald
In the homely mansion
Each in the other’s solicitous embrace
The duo rests
With a soft searching gaze, the one listens
Demurely, the other lays out a strategy
A query is raised, a response attempted, an angle considered
Back and forth
With each other and with the mountain mover
The duo chews the fat
Anticipation building
Through uncharted territory
Their hand in the mountain mover’s gentle and mighty one
The mountain mover guiding
Like a father to a child
His light shining on their way
In the highest name’s authority
The duo wades
A vision blossoms
Of a path through the mountainous trammels
And the shattering of the blazing fetters
Step by step
In trust and in surrender
The duo watch as the hurdles thin out
And their scaling of the imposing mountains
Astound them and onlookers alike
With praise to the mountain mover
Unfathomable gladness spring in their hearts
And on their faces bloom
Their walk with the ever faithful one
A perpetual testimony
Not of two
Though they are but two
But of three
The couple in the hills knows
That of three
Their duo team is comprised
Beautiful!!!
